BASF Recognized as World Leader for Corporate Action on Water Security

BASF (No. 25 on the Fair360, formerly DiversityInc Top 50 Companies list) has been identified as a global leader for its actions and strategies to manage water more sustainably and has earned a position on the Supplier Water A Listby CDP, an international not-for-profit that drives sustainable economies.


Twelve “A Listers” appear on the list, which has been produced at the request of 24 purchasing organizations.

Information provided by over 1,200 companies has been independently assessed against CDP’s scoring methodology developed in collaboration with leading peers and experts in corporate water stewardship and ranked accordingly. BASF is among 1% of corporations participating in CDP’s supply chain water program to be awarded a position on the Supplier Water A List for its water management efforts, earning a position on this exclusive global list of corporate leaders.

Water is of fundamental importance in chemical production. It is used as a coolant, solvent and cleaning agent, as well as to make products. BASF is committed to its responsible use in our production sites’ water catchment areas, and along the entire value chain.

According to CDP, BASF is a world leader in sustainable water management and was included for the first time in CDP’s Water A List in 2016.
