BASF jumped into the fight against the corona pandemic by donating 100 million protective masks to the Federal Republic of Germany and one million masks to the State of Rhineland-Palatinate.
Families and individuals who are food insecure were hit particularly hard by the pandemic. BASF partnered with Feeding America and the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC to match donations up to $100,000.
BASF takes gender diversity seriously. By 2030, BASF aims to increase the proportion of women in leadership positions to 30% worldwide.

At BASF, promoting and valuing diversity across all levels and dimensions is an integral part of our business strategy and is embedded in our corporate values and code of conduct.
In order to deliver the diversity in our workforce required to innovate and offer the best solutions to our customers, BASF requires 50% of the people interviewed for all roles must be diverse, and 50% of the people doing the interviewing must also reflect the diversity we seek in the market.
We established new standards for hiring manager behavior, ensuring the full spectrum of opinions are considered in all hiring decisions. We are equally strategic, deliberate and intentional in leveraging the value of our diversity through inclusion. Rigorous programs are in place governing leader action and accountability, and efforts to ensure the proper infrastructure are in place to support inclusion, education, awareness and communication.
