Spotlight on Kein Milledge

Twenty-two talented veterans were chosen to participate in the AT&T Veterans Media Fellowship. The Fellowship helps US military veterans transition into meaningful, impactful careers in the media and entertainment industry. Representing different branches of the armed services – the Air Force, Army, Marines and Navy – this inaugural class brings a wide range of life and service experiences to the program. Below is a spotlight on one of the selected Fellows.

Kein Milledge is an Army Veteran who was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. When he left the military, he decided to pursue his passion for television and film. He moved to Los Angeles and attended The Los Angeles Film School.

“What excites me the most about this industry is the freedom to be creative and make an impact through editing, directing, and writing. I chose a career in television and film in the hopes that it would be both challenging and fulfilling. Thus far, I have found working in the entertainment industry is just that and it brings me so much joy,” Kein says.

During his time as a fellow, he would like to gain mentorship, networking and inspiration.

“Mentorship for the advice and guidance from industry professionals who I aspire to be like in the future. Networking to become a member of a solid circle of like-minded aspiring creators and to make lasting friendships. Inspiration to fuel my determination and passion. I know this fellowship will do just that,” he says.

“The big dream I want to achieve in this industry is to be in a position where I can reciprocate the support and encouragement I’ve received, by opening doors for the next generation of vets and aspiring television and filmmakers. Transitioning from the military to a civilian career isn’t always easy. Career options and opportunities can be limited. This fellowship has provided me new opportunities and I hope to be able to do that for others in the future.”
