As A Federal Contractor, Are You Prepared for Today’s Section 503 Rule Change
NBDC Offering 7% Boot Camp Webinar September 3 to Prepare Federal Contractors for Announced OFCCP Change
August 27, 2013 The National Business & Disability Council (NBDC) at The Viscardi Center, whose membership includes many federal contractors, is offering a 7% Boot Camp Webinar to its members at no charge, and to non-members for a modest fee, on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., to prepare them for the Section 503 rule change announced today by the Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). The change requires that 7% of the workforce of federal contractors, employing 100 or more employees, be comprised of qualified individuals with disabilities.
“As a comprehensive resource for disability employment best practices, we are offering this webinar, as well as more in-depth programs, so that federal contractors have a better understanding of the Section 503 rule change, how it affects them and what they must do to maintain and exceed compliance,” said Laura M. Francis, Executive Director at the National Business & Disability Council at The Viscardi Center. “We believe everyone benefits from a diverse, inclusive workforce and that this change will infuse new, often untapped, talent at all corporate levels.”
Conducted by NBDC’s disability employment experts, the Boot Camp Webinar will:
- Provide a concrete understanding of the new OFCCP Section 503 rule change;
- Offer tools, such as the NBDC National Resume Database, that HR and Recruitment teams can utilize to recruit qualified individuals with disabilities;
- Provide a Q&A forum to answer initial questions about the rule change.
