The Walt Disney Company has a diverse board of directors. The 10-person board has four women, one Asian man and one Black man. Management also is increasingly diverse in terms of gender, race and ethnicity.


Chairman and CEO Robert Iger chairs the company’s executive diversity council, which meets quarterly. He ties executives’ bonuses to diversity goals and personally signs off on them. Iger meets regularly with employee resource groups, which Disney taps for recruitment and marketing purposes, and ensures that his reports sponsor groups. In addition, he signs off on goals and achievements for supplier diversity and has the head of supplier diversity present to the board of directors.

Disney is a leader in supporting veterans with its Heroes Work Here initiative. This successful outreach program provides jobs and career opportunities for returning U.S. veterans, helping them transition back to civilian life. It also supports military families during the process.
