From The Company
Allstate condemns racism and is committed to leading change for a more just and equitable society.
The company’s 11 Employee Resource Groups are more than 10,000 members strong, and employees accomplished over 30,000 Inclusive Diversity and Equity (IDE) training courses in 2020. As of Dec. 31, 2020, women comprised more than half (55%) of our workforce. Thirty-nine percent of our overall talent and half our Board is racially or ethnically diverse.
The company established companywide inclusive diversity commitments to improve diverse recruiting and leadership teams. Allstate’s IDE team works across the enterprise globally and with Allstate affiliates to support inclusive commitments — covering diverse hiring practices, training in identifying and reducing unconscious bias, retention, development and promotion practices, and more.
Allstate’s Enterprise Diversity Leadership Council (EDLC) includes senior leaders throughout the enterprise focused on advancing inclusive diversity. The EDLC represents different business areas across the company, provides updates to the CEO and helps drive targeted results for inclusive diversity.
Allstate became a founding member of OneTen, focusing on upskilling, hiring and promoting 1 million Black Americans over the following decade.
Allstate was also the first to offer $1.2 billion of corporate bonds using only minority-, women- and veteran-owned firms. This was the largest deal ever managed exclusively by diverse firms, setting a corporate trend toward further equity in the securities market.
A diverse workforce means different backgrounds, ideas and perspectives are brought to the table, which leads to innovative solutions for customers.
