Ali Kreiger Stands with Megan Rapinoe in Skipping White House Visit

Ali Kreiger stands with Megan Rapinoe, her teammate on the U.S. women’s national soccer team, by saying she won’t visit the White House if they win the World Cup. But she would absolutely accept an invitation to the House of Representatives from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y).

Kreiger jumped into the ongoing Twitter scuffle between Rapinoe and President Trump. Rapinoe, in an interview, said she wouldn’t go to the f**king White House. Trump then started a Twitter rant that said Rapinoe should focus on winning the World Cup and that the team would be invited to the White House win or lose.

Kreiger’s tweet was directed at Trump:

She came to her teammate’s defense referring to Trump as a man that deserves no respect.

When asked about her comment, Kreiger told CNN, “I refuse to respect a man that warrants no respect. I feel that staying silent at times can side with the oppressor and I didn’t want her to feel like she was having to process this all alone, because a lot of us do have those similar feelings.”

The players, however, thanked Trump’s predecessor, former President Barrack Obama, when he gave the team a true presidential shout out.

After their spat with Trump, players assured the American people they have their priorities straight and that they were refocusing on the World Cup Finals to be played on Sunday.
