Affordable Care Act Enrollment Slowed by Website 'Glitches'

The troubles with the government’s website for enrolling in new healthcare plans have been no secret since day one—Oct. 1, to be exact—but it turns out it’s more than just the healthcare law’s popularity that are causing them.

In a statement from the White House Rose Garden, President Obama admitted on Monday that there are technical flaws with the online enrollment process at HealthCare.gov, set up to help Americans purchase insurance under the Affordable Care Act. “Nobody is madder than me about the fact that the website isn’t working as well as it should, which means it’s going to get fixed,” the President said. “The product, the health insurance, is good. The prices are good. It is a good deal. People don’t just want it; they’re showing up to buy it.”
