Accenture Celebrates Disability Inclusion with Molly Burke, Sai Kaustuv Dasgupta and Beck Bailey

Accenture ranked No. 1 on The Fair360, formerly DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity list in 2022.

To celebrate this year’s International Day for Persons with Disabilities, Accenture held a conversation with speaker, digital creator and author Molly Burke and motivational speaker, TEDx speaker and Happiness Coach Sai Kaustuv Dasgupta. The discussion was hosted by Beck Bailey, the Global Lead of Inclusion and Diversity at Accenture.

In this session, the speakers discuss the economic contributions of persons with disabilities, common misconceptions about disabilities and how to become better allies in daily life.

“The economic empowerment of persons with disabilities can be achieved once we have access to jobs, livelihoods and basic needs such as education, employment, health services and housing,” said Dasgupta.

The discussion also addressed the importance of awareness while seeking education. Some people with disabilities are passionate about helping others learn, but you shouldn’t assume that every person you encounter will have the same ideals.

“While wanting to learn is fantastic, there’s a time and a place, and you can’t expect free labor from a minority community to educate you. You need to take it upon yourself to educate yourself,” said Burke.

The full conversation is available on YouTube:

“At Accenture, we’re building an accessible and inclusive environment where all our people can thrive. Key to this journey is educating each other and learning together how we can be better allies who advocate for change and a barrier-free workplace,” said Bailey.
