South Carolina Woman Lies to Cops About Being Assaulted by Black Man

Police in Columbia, S.C., have arrested Kristen Rimes for lying about being assaulted by a Black man at a Walmart.

On Nov. 26, Rimes said she was forced from her vehicle, which was allegedly parked in a Walmart parking lot. Supposedly, she was assaulted and then forced to pull down her pants.

She took to her Facebook and posted a picture of her battered face that garnered sympathy and empathy from her friends and strangers alike.

This is a heart-wrenching story. The only thing is Rimes completely fabricated everything.

She filed a police report but when officers began to investigate, they quickly uncovered that she was lying. In fact, they determined that she wasn’t even at the Walmart where the assault and attempted rape was supposed to have taken place. It was a complete waste of resources and time.

The most insidious part of this situation is she even went as far as to describe her attacker with astounding detail. She described the assailant as “a Black male, medium build, wearing a hoodie with a jacket over it.”

Police did attempt to find “the suspect.” But how many Black men did that describe in Columbia How many Black men, young and old, did she put in danger with her false claim

Rimes was subsequently arrested for filing a false police report and false swearing to authorities. She is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Columbia.
