Joining the list after being one of the 25 Noteworthy Companies last year, Wyndham has demonstrated increasing improvement in its diversity-management initiatives, human-capital results and supplier-diversity efforts.
Chairman and CEO Stephen Holmes is a visible supporter of D&I who meets quarterly with resource groups and signs off on executive compensation tied to diversity as well as supplier-diversity metrics.
The company is very global in its approach and has worked hard on culturally competent and inclusive workplaces in its major locations.
Wyndham’s resource groups, known as associate business groups, have been making substantial progress in recruitment, talent development (including mentoring and coaching), leadership training, marketing and sales, linking to business value, and driving innovation. Wyndham has groups for women, veterans, LGBT people and allies, Blacks, Latinos and administrative assistants.
Wyndham’s supplier-diversity initiative has been making stellar progress, including enhanced relationships with organizations such as the National Minority Supplier Development Council, the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, and the United States Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce.
