With decades of experience developing brands globally, William Gipson is well suited to his role as P&G’s Chief Diversity Officer. After joining the company in 1985 as a process-development engineer, he held leadership roles in the product development of major brands including Pampers and Bounty. He also served as a Section Head for Research and Development in Brazil and an Associate Director for R&D in Venezuela.

P&G rotates line executives into the CDO position. In addition to his role as diversity chief, Gipson is Senior Vice President of Research and Development for Global Hair Care, Color and Salon Professional.

A native of Montgomery, Ala., Gipson served in the United States Air Force from 1976 to 1980. He received a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Alabama in 1984. He sits on the boards of the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering and the Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation, and is a member of the Cincinnati Business Committee’s Education Task Force.
