George Chavel recently succeeded Dick Macedonia as CEO and president of Sodexo (U.S. operations), a $7.3-billion company with 110,000 employees.
You'll see in the interview that he wasn't born to a wealthy and/or connected family. He went to a good but modest college and worked his way up. All good attributes, but I've found that white men who are especially effective diversity leaders have had a moment of epiphany on this subject a definite event that transformed thinking.
