A person who points out the fact that a ststement is a non-sequiter and exemplifies either careless thinking or careless use of language does not become either a conservative or a progressive by that act alone.

The term "political science" is an oxymoron. Your claim to have invested in a PhD in the subject may well indicate a rather uncritical personal career investment strategy.
