Keywords: first Black president, Barack Obama, race, Osama bin Laden, Black president, Hardball, Obama, FOX, Osama Obama, Osama

MSNBC's "Hardball" host Chris Matthews did it again. While discussing The New Yorker cover on his program, Matthews once again referred to Sen. Barack Obama as Osama bin Laden. This marks the third time Matthews has had an Osama/Obama--related error on his broadcast.

'Hardball' Host Matthews Confuses Obama and Osama … Again

I see it as nothing more than underhanded fear mongering. The American public has gotten easier to scare with the constant threat of terrorism and will believe almost anything that comes out of some guy in a suit's mouth. I personally find it hard to believe that Chris Matthews would make this mistake unintentionally. Both Osama (First Name) and Obama (Last Name) are well known by now. Unless Mr. Matthews is a complete idiot, there is no way the two men can be mistaken for the other. How do you confuse a presidential candidate with public enemy number one? Simple. I imagine that to the part of America that does not want change, they are one and the same. This slip up and that stupid New Yorker cartoon cover are just little things now. Yes I know the cover was an attempt at satire, but many Americans will take the cover the wrong way. As a matter of fact, they already have. The opposition will begin openly racist attacks in the near future. Chris Matthews is not to be trusted. It does not matter what level of support that he says he has for Obama. I have seen his show many times and I know how he is.

On a side note, I hold no ill will towards John McCain. I think that he could do almost as good of a job as president. In my opinion, he should have won the GOP nomination in 2000. However, some other pretender got it.
