Shock Jock Don Imus is at it again. At least he moved up in weight class, this time taking on a professional football player instead of the Rutgers University women's basketball team. Here's what you had to say, unedited, on Imus, plus more responses on how you've been inspired by Sen. Barack Obama.
Imus At It Again?
We learn that a part of "effective communication" is ensuring that your target audience has a clear understanding of what it is that we are trying to say. Don Imus has clearly communicated to me is that he just doesn't get it.
The "Nappy Headed Hoes" statement was made to be humorous. I didn't like or approve of it but I did understand that it was meant to be humorous and he clearly has a horrible sense of humor.
He was forgiven and now this. The Jones statement sounds like he's saying that "only blacks get arrested or do bad things." This is an unfair assessment of the African-American population and demonstrates his ignorance. If he meant that blacks were unfairly targeted by police then why didn't he just say so?
Obviously he's an intelligent man or at least has access to intelligent resources. Maybe he should spend more time listening and trying to understand people before he starts to talk about them. Adam Jones may be guilty of the sins or crimes that he was arrested for but Don Imus should not be the one to throw stones.

I didn't hear the broadcast--I refuse to listen to him. They took a perfectly good radio station off the air in our listening area (DC) to put him on.
With that said, unless his morning segment was about the unfair treatment of Blacks, he cannot back track now with that explanation. That bucket doesn't hold water.

Imus obviously thinks he is immune to public scrutiny....even though he is on a nationally syndicated radio show. So that tells you how smart he is not. But I will give him the benefit of the doubt in this matter because he has a valid point. African American men are arrested more often times than other races for reasons not usually valid.

I am an immigrant in this country and I never thought it would happen in my life time that an African American would be running for president. We have taken a step forward. The discrimination and prejudices are acquired deep rooted feelings and we still have to fight against them. This election has given hope and inspiration to lot of people of every generation. I think the hard work of those who are working against these evils have paid of but there is lot of hard work ahead of us who wants to see changes in the country. Our work has just started.
