The W.K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF) donated $3 million to the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation, Inc. This donation makes $90 million of the $100 million needed to construct the four acre memorial of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to be built on the National Mall in Washington D.C.
AT&T and the AT&T Foundation sponsored the United Negro College Fund (UNCF)'s 29th annual "An Evening of Stars." The program, which aired Jan. 26--27, featured a tribute to legendary singer Smokey Robinson for his continual support of UNCF and honored the work of the fund and its 39 historically Black colleges and universities. Since 1985, AT&T companies have given more than $12.4 million to the UNCF.
AT&T is No. 3 on The 2007 DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversitylist.
The Coca-Cola Foundation gave the University of Alabama $1 million to fund the Coca-Cola First Generation Scholarship program. On Jan. 22, 12 students were honored with scholarships. Students chosen for the program received funds for their tuition and were provided with a tutor to ensure they stay on the right path during their college career. Over the past 10 years, the Coca-Cola Foundation has given $155 million toward education and $165 million in support of the community.

Procter & Gamble donated $145 million in products to children at the Tam Binh Orphanage in Vietnam. The contributions, which consisted of diapers, soaps and detergents, will be of major assistance for the orphans with disabilities and/or HIV. For more than four years, Procter & Gamble has donated essential necessities to the Tam Binh orphanage, part of the global corporation's initiative to improving the lives of children in need.
