By DiversityInc Staff
November 08, 2007
The Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR) honored 28 young professional executives at its inaugural Young Hispanic Corporate Achievers™ (YHCA) program this week.
The honorees all are Latinos between 25 and 40 years old, employed by a Fortune 500 company or a HACR corporate member. The candidates were nominated by their companies. They were evaluated based on their demonstrated leadership qualities, commitment to their community, education and employment experiences and industry expertise.
"We have found that a company's success is being increasingly influenced by their inclusion of professionals from the growing Hispanic population," said HACR President and CEO Carlos Orta in a statement. "It is important for us to recognize these young professionals who are helping to fuel the engines that drive our country's economy."
The awardees took part in a one-day leadership development and networking program. The competition was sponsored by the Ford Motor Co., Comcast and Philip Morris USA. Ford and Comcast are Nos. 5 and 48, respectively, on The 2007 DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity® list.
