CSX Corp. will renew and expand a credit-line agreement with Citizens Trust Bank of Atlanta to help small banks serving underrepresented communities.

 

The credit line for banks owned by people of color, led by Citizens Trust Bank of Atlanta, increased from $16.9 million to $18.5 million. The credit program will also include 12 additional banks in 12 cities nationwide.

 

CSX is one of DiversityInc's 25 Noteworthy Companies in 2007.

 

KPMG launched The Future Diversity Leaders Program to give leadership training and contributions to students of color interested in business careers. This program was designed to increase representation of people of color in the accounting industry.

About 50 students will be selected each year to participate in the program, where they will receive a summer internship and scholarship upon completion of the program.

Students will be selected by their college professors based on their involvement in community services or diversity organizations as well as good academic standing. 


Coca-Cola will be a sponsor of the Little Rock Nine Foundation's 50th Anniversary Celebration and Scholarship Awards Gala in
Little Rock, Ark. The Gala will be held Sept. 24 at the Wally Allen Ballroom, Statehouse Convention Center to celebrate the beginning of America's desegregation. 

Former President Bill Clinton will host the event and will award scholarships to nine future leaders who were chosen based on written essays and a consistent 3.0 or higher GPA.

The Coca-Cola Co. is No. 4 on The 2007 DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity® list and No. 6 on the Top 10 Companies for Asian Americans.


Food Lion
and the Johnnetta B. Cole Global Diversity & Inclusion Institute announced a $100,000 grant to students at Bennett College for Women who reside in areas where Food Lion stores are prevalent.

The Food Lion Scholarship Fund will provide $10,000 to 10 female students of color during the 2007-2008 academic year to enable them to pursue professional education.

Procter & Gamble gave $90,000 to the Johnnetta B. Cole Global Diversity & Inclusion Institute to administer the O. LaVelle Bond Diversity Scholarship, named for the former president of Procter & Gamble's Global Diversity & Human Resources Center of Expertise. The scholarship will provide students with tuition support and the opportunity to participate in diversity programs.

Procter & Gamble is No. 14 in The 2007 DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity list.
