Diversity Strengths: Strong CEO Commitment. CEO and President Richard Macedonia chairs the diversity council (60 percent of Top 50 CEOs do this) and has strong ties to the National Urban League (only 30 percent of Top 50 CEOs have leading positions in multicultural nonprofits). Sodexho has strong employee-resource groups and mandatory diversity training for the entire work force (58 percent of Top 50 companies have this) that lasts a full day and is held every month. The company gets a perfect score for its web site's demonstrated commitment to diversity. It also has strong supplier diversity, with 11 percent of Tier I procurement going to minority- and women-owned suppliers.
