TD Bank (No. 38 on the DiversityInc Top 50 Companies list) will support Hurricane Harvey disaster relief efforts sponsored by the American Red Cross by collecting donations at the majority of its stores on Friday, Sept. 8, as part of its Bring Change charitable-giving program. The TD Charitable Foundation will also donate $125,000 to fund relief efforts.

“As one of the nation’s largest banks, we believe we have a responsibility to help people in our communities and around our country,” said Greg Braca, President and CEO, TD Bank. “We’re honored to work together to support the people of Houston in their time of need. Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by this brutal tragedy.”

TD’s Bring Change program raises money to fund community nonprofits that are making a meaningful impact and assist individuals in need across the Bank’s footprint. The program addresses issues impacting low- to moderate-income populations as well homelessness, food insecurity, services for those with special needs, and disaster-recovery efforts.

Information on the Bring Change Hurricane Harvey fundraiser will be posted in all TD Bank stores with details on how community members can lend their support.

As developments become available regarding Hurricane Irma and its potential impact, TD will determine and announce how best to support recovery efforts.

Red Cross donations provide shelter, food, comfort and emergency support for people displaced and affected by tragedies, such as Hurricane Harvey.

The TD Bank Group, TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank’s parent company, has already donated $100,000 to support Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

  • Here’s info about another bank (#9 on the Diversity Inc top 50) – I’m a proud Wells Fargo employee. The company has had a lot of bad press lately…but I’d like to share a positive story. Wells Fargo donated $1 million for Harvey ($500K to Red Cross and $500K to other non profits) and another $1 million to the WE Care Fund, which provides grants to WF employees with severe financial hardships. I work for a great company! (And our thoughtful customers have made an incredible $1.2 million in donations via our ATMs!)
