Nielsen Expands Multi-Year Agreement With Sargento

Nielsen will continue to deliver industry-leading information and insights to Sargento.

Nielsen (No. 32 on the DiversityInc Top 50 Companies list) and Sargento Foods Inc., announced the expansion of a multi-year relationship. With this renewed agreement, Nielsen will continue to deliver industry-leading information and insights to Sargento, in addition to extend services to fuel the company’s category management, innovation and marketing and sales effectiveness strategies.

For over a decade, Nielsen has been a central and strategic resource to Sargento. Nielsen’s vast suite of products and services has supported Sargento Foods’ rise to a leading player in the natural shredded, sliced, and snacking cheese space. The pursuit of innovation is part of the heritage of Sargento, as demonstrated by its Nielsen Breakthrough Innovation awards for Ultra Thin Cheese Slices and Balanced Breaks. That pursuit has led the dairy industry forward, giving people more ways to celebrate their love for real, natural cheese.

“More than ever before, today’s consumers are changing the way they think about, and purchase the products they love. With Nielsen, we have been able to gain a deeper understanding of our consumer and develop products to meet their needs. We trust Nielsen data to educate ourselves and inform our business decisions – which in turn helps strengthen our relationships with retail partners and consumers. With an eye firmly fixed on the future, we see Nielsen as a crucial partner to drive our continued success,” said Michael Pellegrino, President and Chief Growth Officer of Sargento.

“We are excited to expand our longstanding relationship with Sargento,” said Nicholas Larsen, Senior Vice President of Client Services at Nielsen. “Nielsen’s advanced analytics, industry leading technology, and collaborative support have helped Sargento make more informed, data-driven decisions and we look forward to powering the next chapter of the Sargento success story.”
