Lennon Lacy was an athletic, outgoing young man.
At 5’9″, 207 pounds, the 17-year-old was a lineman on his high-school football team. Around 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 28, Lacy left his Bladenboro, N.C., home in his size-12 Nike Air Jordans to go for a walk, choosing to exercise in the lower heat and humidity at night due to his asthma. His team had a game the next day.
