Bringing New Voices to the Board of Directors
Traditionally, diversity on a corporate board of directors meant a white-male chief operating officer was elected to a board comprised of white-male chief executive officers. But the debacles of Enron, WorldCom and others ushered in the era of Sarbanes-Oxley, which, coupled with the nation's growing population of color, have provided corporate boards incentive to seek diverse directors who are people of color and women. . . .
