Joe Echevarria is widely recognized as an advocate for workplace equality, particularly for women. In 2012, he participated in the White House Forum on Women and Economy. “We’re giving women a hand, not a hand-out,” he wrote in an editorial in Fast Company. “And by doing so, we’re also strengthening families, communities, and the world we’re going to leave for our children.”

Deloitte is a leader in talent development and “was one of the first to recognize that its clients expected diverse teams that reflect their corporate values,” says Fair360, formerly DiversityInc. As a result of its inclusion practices, the firm has been recognized among Fair360, formerly DiversityInc’s Top 10 Companies for Latinos, Asian-Americans, Executive Women, LGBT Employees and Global Diversity. “The more inclusive we are, the better,” Echevarria said in the company’s Diversity and Inclusion report. “Cast the widest net and we will find the people best qualified to serve our clients with distinction and strengthen our own future.”
