Not too long ago TLC and their sponsor Lowes were attacked for promoting the new show, “All American Muslins”. In the end Lowes pulled their sponsorship, but TLC was able to sell out their ad space in record time because other businesses were not going to be bullied. It was brave and important for J.C. Penny to stand by their decision. From a crisis communication point of view, this was handled very well and there is a lesson for all business there. I too will be supporting J.C. Penny with my wallet and encouraging others to do the same.
