Taliban-Fighting Girl's Life on the Line

Pakistani schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai will undergo emergency medical care from a team of specialized doctors in a Birmingham, England, hospital. The 14-year-old female-education activist was gunned down by the Taliban as she walked home from class, targeted for her high-profile efforts promoting the need for women’s equality in Pakistani society.


Yousafzai had been featured in the 2009 documentary below, which detailed how the Taliban are shutting down Pakistani schools that provide education to women. “I want to get my education, and I want to become a doctor,” she says.
