What a wonderful portrait of a great man. I have had the good pleasure to meet, get to know, and work with Steve over the past few years and it has been a truly inspirational experience for me. His involvment in the Rutgers Future Scholars program is philanthropy at its most exemplary: equal parts generosity, passion, personal involvement. Steve takes caring to an entirely new level, and his example has touched a great number of people. I feel honored to know Steve and I applaud DiversityInc for recognizing him so publicly.

I am Jason Gainnes, a proud participant of the Rutgers Future Scholars Program. Mr. Colson is more than a philanthropist, he's a rich man with the heart of father searching for his abandoned child. He seeks to improve the lives of the people around him that are in need, even if it means opening his wallet and his calendar. (To do what his schedule permits to spend quality time with the individual) I know that he's lent a great deal of time with me, and I'm honored that he's given me that type of social connection with someone outside of my community-- time with someone that isn't obligated to even step in a disadvantaged community such as mine. Mr. Colson is not only my close friend, but he can be considered as one of my heroes-- surprising to me because when faced to answer the "My hero Question," my answer always seems to be "My Self!" So when he reads this I hope a smile is ignited. Thank you for being an inspirational figure in my life Mr. Colson!

I would just like to send kudos to this man, who is the epitome of what a human being should be. Everyone should do something, however large or small, to make the world a better place before they leave it. If you don't have money, then just give kindness, in whatever form you can. Colson has proven that success and wealth have not affected his essential kindness. Again, KUDOS!
