Dear Ms. Davis - Your Mom was my second grade teacher. I was in her class the year your tumor was discovered and remember her concern for you. It is no surprise that you have developed into the articulate, strong, determined person that you are. Knowing your mother as teacher and friend (we remained in contact with each other until her passing) you had no other choice. Your Mom was role model and mentor to so many of us. I know you are perhaps her proudest accomplishment. Congratulations on all of your success.

A story that shows humans are not their physical attributes, skin color, looks, or other superficial things. They are spirit, soul, heart, thought, and humanity, as Deidre shines for the universe to see. You are truely blessed, your classmate.

I am so proud of Deidre - she is truly a remarkable person. Deidre is a classmate and close friend of mine from Howard University Law School. She would have excelled in whatever field of law she wanted to pursue - it just so happens that she decided to focus her efforts on something near and dear to her heart and her own experiences. Her intellect, wit, and ability to have fun have never been disabled in any way!! I'm so very proud of her achievements and willingness to help others. I am very fortunate to have her as a friend. Sherri Blount

Deidre,
Life's adversities and setbacks happen to bring us to a new level of awareness, so that we can become who we were meant to be; who we were created to be. Thanks' Deidra for your story walking through the adversity with grace. When any adversity comes to your door – and it will come – make the decision to walk through it with grace. Become aware of the trial – acknowledge its presence in your life at this time in your life. You do not have to know the purpose at this time; just know that there is a greater purpose for your life. Deidre thanks for being a trail blazer for people with disabilities. You are far more powerful than your outside circumstance, and you're recognizing this very early on, you have gain the courage you need to overcome anything."

This proves that disability crosses many paths ! Now for the next frontier of knocking the barrier of unemplyment among people with dsabilities . People with disabilites are an incricate part of the quilt of diversity .
