Speaker Ryan is Soliciting

Ryan is "not yet" ready to endorse Trump; what is he waiting for?

Speaker Paul RyanSpeaker Paul Ryan said he was “not ready” to endorse Trump.

Yet.

Now we know what his real profession is — we don’t need to find out what the price is going to be; we need to drive everyone like him out of office.

There’s no secret about what the Trump party platform is. Its leader has doubled down on his plans to deport 11 million people, build a wall on our southern border (and extort Mexico to pay for it), kill the Affordable Care Act and ban Muslims from immigrating; and he has reiterated his misogynist statements about Secretary Clinton. He’s never retracted his assertions that President Obama is not a citizen.

Three deferments, three marriages, three bankruptcies. Do a web search for “Trump real estate settlement” — the man is a serial business disaster. But the Speaker is “not ready.”

As Maya Angelou said, “When people tell you who they are, believe them the first time.” Speaker Ryan has made his judgment call.

What do we do? Get out the vote.

Last night I promised a local candidate, Leticia Fraga, that I would rent a bus on election night to help people get from their neighborhood to the polling place. I don’t care whom they vote for; the more people who vote, the better, as the demographics favor the readership of this publication. Read “Brown is the New White” by Steve Phillips. It’s excellent — it describes in well-written and entertaining detail how the coalition of Blacks, Latinos and progressive whites controls the center of the chessboard when it comes to national public elections.

Numbers are on our side. The only way we can lose is if we don’t go out to vote. It’s not just Trump; the leadership of the Senate is up for grabs.

Get out the vote — do everything you can — fill up your car on election night. Make sure people you know complete their citizenship process.
