I am most curious about the inclusion of clergy as a category in the statement regarding power. If I parse the statement, it is logical to re-state it as: “You can tell this by their overwhelming majority of Christian men in the positions of power in our country; such as clergy”. What would you expect to find in a democratic society with our present constitution?

Your last comment “Either we haven’t done a good job of developing our nation’s talent pool equitably or white men have an intrinsic superiority in ability.” would be better expressed “Either we haven’t done a good job of developing our nations’s pool equitably or white men have an intrinsic superiority in ability. But since the latter is a myth, then the former is more accurate.”

As always, you commentary was thought provoking. I was particularly drawn to the last paragraph. While most people would resist labeling themselves as biased/bigotted/racist, it appears “white privilege” is still alive and well. And since unconscious bias is based on family & culture, I suspect establishing true equity is still years away.
