What does have to do with marriage? Simply that gays/lesbians must be afforded the full right of integrity otherwise all the honor we have as a nation rings false.

Regarding President Obama’s “change of heart” I have no problem with it. A politician that does not espouse a particular line of rhetoric can not obtain an office through which necessary change can be made. Perhaps his views are calculated and shrewed, but in the environment in which he, and others, must operate demands it.

It’s not necessary for President Obama to have a change of heart. Those who have a moral objection to homosexuality will continue to do so, All that is required is that they obey the laws as ordained by the U.S. Congress.

With all due respect, President Obama’s has not had a “change of heart.” He is a smart politician who realizes that he’s losing credibility in the lesbian/gay communities. He’s walked the line with us – remember Rick Warren giving the invocation at the inauguration?

The Democrats’ position of supporting civil unions, but not same sex marriage is cynical and rings as true as a wooden nickel. This includes President Obama.

His statement that his views are “evolving” is calculated and shrewd, not sincere.

Come on, the guy’s a politician, for heaven’s sake.

I’m not sure President Obama’s personal beliefs needed to be changed. Having been a member of Congress, Obama certainly knows how the US government is supposed to work. It’s the president’s role, as chief executive, to execute and uphold laws made by Congress. It’s the Supreme Court’s role to decide whether a law is constitutional. Sometimes the roles in a drama have to play out before we know the denouement.

Thanks for sharing Admiral Mullen’s testimony. Reading his words, I would say he is a true American that I would be proud to support as a candidate for the US Senate, where he would surely bring a common sense approach that is so badly needed in the US Congress. I share his belief that proper leadership and the integrity of those serving in our military today will make this change a non-issue when the primary expectation is RESPECT FOR ALL.
