Lafley originally was P&G’s President and CEO from 2000 to 2009. He retired from the company in early 2010 but returned in May 2013, with the additional title of Chairman. In his first stint running the company, P&G more than doubled its sales, expanded its portfolio of brands and merged with Gillette to become one of the 10 most valuable companies in the world. Over his first three decades with P&G, Lafley also oversaw operations in Asia and was President of Global Beauty Care and of North America. He served as a Senior Adviser at Clayton, Dubilier & Rice investment firm before returning to P&G.
